Capturing Aidan and Elaine’s love story during their Cafe Brauer ceremony was an absolute joy. Incredibly, they met in South Africa during a college semester there with their small Indiana college. They dated for four and a half years before deciding to get married. Neither one is sure who made the first move, but they know it was a move well-made. And we have to agree, after spending their wedding day with them!
The day started with the couple getting ready separately with their bridesmaids and groomsmen. They chose a classic black and white look and the wedding party was decked out in white. The florals were also black and white with the most stunning anemones.
After getting ready, they met up for a first look. Theirs was extra special because they exchanged private vows while it was just the two of them. This is such a sweet touch to a day that can sometimes feel so chaotic. It was a true moment of connection back to the reason everyone was gathering for the day!
Next, we headed out to the city because it’s not a Chicago wedding without some iconic shots. I love doing both couples portraits and wedding party pictures in the city. You just can’t beat some of our architecture, and it makes for some incredible photographs. I never tire of seeing the cityscape! After pictures, it was off to the heartfelt ceremony with friends and loved ones.
Once the “I Dos” were exchanged, it was time for a celebration! Everyone had a great time, and they even gathered all of their college buddies for a photo together. The evening was full of good food and so much laughter. They, of course, danced the night away as husband and wife.
Thank you, Elaine and Aidan, for including us in your Cafe Brauer ceremony! If you are planning your own Chicago wedding, reach out and let’s capture your love story! We can’t wait to hear from you.
