Oh, brace yourself for this one because we’re about to take you on a journey filled with warmth, love, and the most heart-melting backyard summer celebration you’ve ever seen! Alexis and Chris, you’ve given us all the feels with your perfect day!
Here’s what Alexis had to say when we asked her about their relationship:
Chris and I met while we were in high school. After high school, Chris joined the military as an active-duty Marine stationed in San Diego, while I went away to college in Pittsburgh, PA. A few years later, we rekindled our friendship, which quickly turned into a relationship, and we have been together ever since. After I graduated from college, I moved out to San Diego to start my professional career and to finally put an end to our long-distance relationship. Chris and I are still currently living in SD, but will be coming home for our wedding since that is where both of our families are located.
And they certainly brought it all the way back home to Alexis’s mom’s backyard! To add to the magic, they had a heartfelt ceremony at their family church, just down the road.
Alexis stunned in a white gown with a deep neckline and cutouts along the sides and back. But that’s not all; she took it to the next level with pearl embellishments on her veil and the most elegant pearl drop earrings. Chris kept it timeless with a traditional black tuxedo paired with a crisp white bow tie.
As they exchanged vows at their family church, guests showered them with blessings, tossing dried flowers in a display of love and happiness. We LOVE the dried flower idea, and it was perfect for their summer wedding filled with gorgeous florals!
The magic continued at the backyard reception, where long tables were adorned with summery peach, pink, and light blue blooms that ran down the center, creating an utterly picturesque setting. Outdoor string lights illuminated the dance floor, setting the stage for a night of pure joy and celebration.
And let’s talk about those portraits! In the spacious backyard, with towering oak trees as the backdrop, we captured the most stunning shots. The golden hour lent its magical touch as the sun started to set, and it gave us gorgeous shots of the newlyweds.
Alexis and Chris, your backyard summer celebration was nothing short of perfection! As a Midwest wedding photographer, we know that summer love stories like yours are pure magic. You’ve warmed our hearts, and we’re so honored to have been a part of your beautiful backyard wedding. Here’s to the forever kind of love you two share!
