His friend begged and begged him to set him up on a blind date with the “perfect girl.” Finally, Logan agreed. And as the blind date commenced, he left feeling indifferent and with his mind on the girl that sat behind him in the classroom at the local university. The bubbly hazel-eyed girl seemed fun, bright, and driven. So he made the move. But as much as Amber knew she wanted to date the man that made her laugh until her sides hurt, she knew it wasn’t time. As months progressed, they became good friends who met up for coffee, a good movie at the theater, and exploring Fort Wayne.
Friendship progressed to dating, and dating progressed to Amber getting a phone call one morning from Logan, explaining the rules and guidelines for the surprise he had planned on the unexpected Saturday. And as Amber explored Fort Wayne on the scavenger hunt, revisiting all their favorite spots that they frequented throughout the years, she knew something was up. When she finally reached Logan – standing in the middle of a garden at Goeglein’s Homestead – he had a ring in his hand and a question on his lips.
They’ll celebrate their wedding day this fall at the same place where they became engaged, surrounded by the family and friends that have supported them on this wonderful journey to marriage. Amber and Logan, thank you a ton for exploring Huntington with me, suffering through mosquitos and the heat. You are the best souls and I can’t wait to celebrate with you in October! xx- M
