We love a couple who knows exactly what’s most important to them! At this intimate Chicago ceremony, Leslie and Greg opted to forego a large wedding party and just include a maid of honor and best man, focusing on family portraits and time to themselves. While a large wedding party can be the absolute best, opting to keep the crowd at the altar simple is also a beautiful way to go! As a midwest wedding photographer, by best advice is to do exactly what feels right to you. 🙂
Leslie told me a little more about the couple’s vision for their wedding as they were planning:
“We love being outside, the national parks, and chicago. We want our wedding to reflect us in that we are not table cloth linen people. [We want] something a little bit different and authentic feeling.”
As you scroll, you’ll see that Greg and Leslie chose the most unique, fun venue for their reception – complete with paper lanterns, neon signs, and vintage cars. They also chose to feature delicious local ice cream and donuts instead of a giant cake (though they did get to cut a cute personal-sized one together during the festivities!).
We made sure to capture some portraits in a city park and on a flight of city steps before we caught a few sunset photos on the venue rooftop. Leslie said that because she and Greg were born and raised in Chicago, they really wanted to capture some of the city feeling in their photos… without having a “cliche skyline” in the background. I think we hit it just right!
I hope you enjoy all the delightful moments from this intimate Chicago Ceremony, and Indigo Lace Collective wishes you all the happiness, Leslie and Greg!
