Their families insisted they meet. They had never even stood in the same room, let alone had a conversation, when Kaylee and Jacob’s family slyly coordinated a dinner hoping that something would spark between the two. It took a while, but a few months later, they reconnected. And when they did, it happened fast. It was only a matter of weeks before they knew that this was different. It was easy and natural – like they had been best friends for life. It was so easy, in fact, that when I met Kaylee and Jacob at a December wedding, they were so comfortable with each other that I assumed that they had been together for years. In reality? A few weeks.
A few months later and Jacob was on one knee at one of Kaylee’s favorite places on earth – the summer camp where she worked. Totally surprised, she still had the easiest time shouting yes. We spent the summer evening exploring Fox Island, people watching, and getting covered in mosquito bites but man, it was completely worth it. Kaylee and Jacob, you two are just a ton of freaking fun. I seriously can’t wait for your laughs and Jacob’s weird jokes and all of your big love next year. It’s gonna be a good day. All the love – xx, M
