I don’t even know how to start out this blog post because I’m SO excited to introduce you to Indigo Lace Collective’s newest associate! When Madi and I first met, she was the little sister of my dear friend. As I shot his wedding, I distinctly remember her saying how much she wanted me to photograph her wedding someday. We accomplished that goal this past October when she married her best friend – they are seriously the most perfect couple, guys.
Even back in October, I never would have dreamed that six months later Madi would be the newest ILC sidekick. But winter brought in so many bittersweet changes – my dear sister and former associate, Jamaica, had to part ways with ILC to follow her path and dreams in life. And while I’m so sad to see her go and SO excited to see what the future holds for her, it was time to start the search for someone who could fill the shoes.
Initially, this was such a daunting and stressful task. It was hard for me to believe that there was someone out there who would adore and care for my clients with the same passion I had. But Madi fell into place like a missing piece of a puzzle. I can’t wait for all my 2017 and 2018 clients to see how bright Madi’s soul is. She is full of creative passion and energy. For now, she’ll be shooting alongside me for a second perspective during weddings. The future, however, is full of possibilities for her to take on ILC weddings solo if I’m booked or to cater to a couple’s tighter budget.
As excited as I am to introduce Madi to the world and my beloved clients, I’m going to stop the ranting and let her tell you a bit about herself:
How long have you been shooting?
I’ve been shooting for about three years now, but just started taking classes on it this past year. Throughout my senior year in high school, 2013, I took all my friends senior photos and have been doing it since!
What’s your favorite part of a wedding day?
My favorite part of wedding day has to be either during the vows or the first dance. I am a huuuuuge sucker for the romantic, googley eyes, lovey dove stuff! There is nothing I love more than people in love, and the vows and first dance are usually the most romantic, make my heart happy dance part.
If you could shoot a wedding anywhere in the world, where would it be?
No doubt about it. It would be Greece, hands down. I’ve never been, but I have been in love with that country, its culture, and its breathtaking views since as long as I can remember. Greece is most definitely number one on my bucket list!
Biggest pet peeve?
I have quite a few pet peeves honestly! But my biggest would have to be when people have their turn signals on the whole time they are on a highway ramp, I mean, is that really necessary??
Favorite Netflix show to binge watch?
The Office and Greys Anatomy! but of course I have a huge guilty pleasure for One Tree Hill. What can I say, I am a huge Netflix junky!
Least favorite food?
Lasagna and curry. I cannot stand ether of them! Never have been able too.
Favorite hobby besides photography?
Right now my favorite hobby would have to be decorating my house! I love making it my own and adding my own personal touch to every piece of it. Also reading! If I’m not working on homework or photographing someone, I usually have a book in my hand, and you can always find one or two in my car.
What makes your heart and soul light up?
My friends and family are my world! There is nothing that make me happier than playing with my nieces or laughing along with my very best friends.
What Hogwarts house are you in?
I’m a Hufflepuff! Which makes sense since I’ve always been a little odd and quirky
