They fell in love amongst the colorful streets of Cartegena, Columbia. They were both studying abroad and caught each others eye one day in the middle of class. You could almost say it was love at first sight- something about the romance of the foreign city, the gorgeous sunsets on the beach, the brightly colored Columbian buildings and ability to explore and adventure together made Kathleen and Santiago’s fall into a fast friendship, and then in love.
They spent the next year and a half on adventures together. From traveling to hiking and exploring the Midwestern outdoors, they were always by each others sides whenever they could be. And when Santiago got down on one knee in one of their favorite parks, Kathleen promised to be by his side through the biggest adventure of all.
It was only fitting that we celebrate Kathleen and Santiago’s love of the outdoors with taking a sunrise hike through Eagle Marsh Nature Preserve. As the chill of the autumn wind hit the face, Santiago wrapped Kathleen in his arms to keep her warm. Kathleen kept exclaiming about the beauty of the hike, but Santiago was looking straight at her.
They’ll be married next summer at Salomon Farms, the most perfect location for two outdoor, adventuring souls. Kathleen and Santiago, thank you for waking the world up with me during our sunrise shoot, you two are magical. Counting down the days until the wedding! xx- M
His bright smile, deep laugh and caring demeanor immediately caught her attention. Well, that and the motorcycle. He was the cute boy at school with the Harley, and it took her only moments after she met him for her heart to leap in her chest. Although she tried to chat and ask for a ride, Logan had high school and a future on his mind. He wasn’t looking. But somewhere, deep down in her gut, Madison knew that their story wasn’t done quite yet.
Years passed and just like Madison thought, they reconnected. And as he put a diamond ring on her finger and asked her that one special question on an early Sunday morning before church, she knew that her patience had paid off. They’ll be married in just a few short months, with Madison always having the bragging rights of “knowing first.” I’m so so excited for your wedding, Madison and Logan- so soon! xx, M.
