Romy and Matt’s winter city hall elopement was a heartwarming, chic little bright spot during this past Chicago winter!! After 4 years of long distance (Romy is Dutch, Matt is American), the couple decided to get married at city hall and have a micro wedding with their closest family and friends.

For photos, they wanted a “just got married” vibe exploring the riverfront and snowy streets before returning to their guests to celebrate. As a Chicago wedding photographer, finding the perfect spots on the waterfront or with the best skyline in the background is my fave!

Elopements and micro weddings are such a delightfully intimate experience for a couple and their guests. There’s something so special about focusing on the real reason for a wedding – just two people in love, making a commitment to each other.
