Sunshine streamed through the windows of Coppes Commons as Ariel floated through the reception hall, finishing up last minute details and arranging the peonies perfectly on the crisp white cake that had just been delivered. Ever since she had met Derrick underneath the football stadium lights in high school, a part of her had envisioned this day. And while every detail had to be carefully thought out, antiqued, thrifted, and placed in the cozy windows and corners of the warehouse, she was still focused completely on Derrick. After all these years-with a year long friendship starting the journey before they even started dating-their wedding day was long awaited by family and friends, and especially the two of them.
It was one of those days where everything unfolded in the most natural and light-hearted manner. Family and friends cheered as tears welled up in the eyes of both Derrick and Ariel as they said their vows under the candle-lit ceremony. It was everything they had dreamed of from the very beginning, when they were just two teenagers who, even though they were young, were determined to make the relationship last a lifetime.
Knowing they wanted as much time as possible to spend with each other and the family and friends on the wedding day, Ariel and Derrick opted for a day after session which I can’t wait to share in a separate blog post. Ariel and Derrick, words can’t describe how beautiful and breathtaking your wedding day was, and more importantly, your relationship is. Being able to witness your first two days as husband and wife was the greatest privilege and honor and I can’t wait to see how you tackle life hand in hand. The greatest thanks for your family treating us like close friends and welcoming us with open arms- it made your day that much more special in our hearts. All the love – xx, M&M
