“You’ve Got A Friend in Me” rang out over the rooftop of Lacuna Lofts as the Chicago skyline graced the backdrop of the ceremony where Migui broke into song during his vows. The crowd roared. Haley laughed through the happy tears. As their closest friends surrounded them, one of their friends stood at the altar and officiated, making sure the ceremony revolved around one thing – the friendship that Haley and Migui have in each other and how deeply they care about the people that are in their lives.
Their relationship is a whirlwind. From meeting with Migui’s pickup lines of “They have cupcakes here,” to buying a van and living life on the road, to planning a wedding from across the country, they’ve always been there to build each other up and take on the world together. Haley brings the brightest laughter into the room and Migui brings harmony to Haley’s spontaneity and need for adventure. But more than anything, they think of everyone else but themselves. Their wedding day revolved around the special moments everyone needed – a first look with Haley’s dad, hugging every single bridesmaid and groomsmen, toasts with loved ones on the roof, milk & cookies toasts with the kids, and a beer pong playoff with their closest friends. And as “Hey Jude” shook the walls of Lacuna Lofts, their friends linked arm in arm around Haley and Migui as they danced the last dance of their wedding surrounded by everyone they loved so dearly.
Haley and Migui, I don’t even have words. This day was beyond what I could have even imagined and you two are the absolute greatest. I barely have words, but I know Migui will craft them for me. You two have my heart. Thank you for letting me witness this day. I’m honored. All the love – xx, M
