I’m so excited to ring in the new year with this winter celebration at Old Chicago Post Office! Donnie and Kelly started planning their wedding in 2019, only to have it pushed to 2022 after a few Covid reschedules! Many couples have had to get creative the last few years–and as a Chicago wedding photographer, it’s been so inspiring to see how folks are able to celebrate despite the challenges.

While they waited, Donnie and Kelly eloped & had a baby and were SO ready for their party to finally celebrate!! And party they did: multiple food stations, Donnie taking over bartending, and shuffleboard games filled the night between dancing and toasts.

Kelly tells us more about herself and Donnie:

“Donnie and I are goofy, fun-loving, a total team, and each other’s biggest fans. I said to him the other day, “I literally think you were put on earth for me”. He knows what I need before I do, and we keep each other sane and on our toes. We met on OKCupid. He messaged me, and we talked for hours that first night. We have the print out of that conversation and re-read it to each other on our anniversary. He asked to call me on the phone rather than just text/app message and I was blown away. I thought romance and chivalry had died till I met Don. We’ve been through it all – long distance, cross-country moves, injuries (he was a rugby player), melding our family, friends and lives over the last 4 years… We love food and drink and friends and – well, each other!“
