They explore the city, trying all the latest breweries, eclectic speak-easies, and restaurants. They travel. They run marathons. They started dating in high-school, but everyone around them knew this wasn’t a typical high-school relationship. This was different. Stephens humor balances out Shelby’s more serious personality, while Shelby keeps Stephen grounded. Since high school, they’ve supported each other through a long-distance relationship through college, to job changes, to relocating just to be with one another.

 In true explorer fashion, Stephen proposed to Shelby as they were exploring Nashville on a February evening.  As he got to one knee on the pedestrian bridge over the water, Shelby couldn’t imagine saying yes to anyone else other than her best friend and high school sweetheart. 

 As we roamed Cincinnati, Shelby and Stephen pointed out their favorite hole-in-the-wall eateries and pubs and where they met up with friends. They’ll get married in their hometown, Fort Wayne, this fall, surrounded by humans who have supported them through the near decade of being with one another.
