She’s the girl who puts her heart and soul into everything she does – from who she loves, to her job, to planning the wedding day of her dreams. No detail was left untouched. As the sun rose on their wedding day- as the bridesmaids had their dresses pressed and arranged on personalized hangers, as the ceremony and reception rooms were adorned with pictures, love quotes, flowers and candles, as her garter (made from generations of wedding gowns and inscripted with their own wedding date) lay with her jewelry and custom-made wedding dress (that she designed when she was ten)- Sarah told me, “I’m just trying to focus on marrying Alex.”   And as the sunny spring morning rolled into a breezy warm afternoon, Sarah walked down the petal covered aisle to the man who held her heart for all these years. 

When Sarah and I first met, she told me that their wedding day would feel like finishing the first leg of a triathlon. And as they stood at the alter with Sarah’s father marrying them, that’s exactly what it was. After all of the years of school, the military, long-distance dating and uprooting their lives to finally be together, they were finally married. And it’s safe to say, as they finished the first leg of that race, there was not a dry eye in the room. 

Sarah and Alex, oh boy. My heart is so warm for you and I cannot thank you enough for letting me document your day. Alex, you treat Sarah with such devotion and Sarah, you constantly affirm him with love, praise, and affection. You two make love so real and beautiful. I can’t wait to see where life takes you, and I hope you’re soaking in the sun on that Hawaiian beach – you deserve it! xx, M+C
