He was a friend from high school. Although he was a few grades above her, they were always friends and stayed in touch throughout college. It wasn’t until a few years after high school graduation that Rodney finally built up the courage to ask Madison out. They planned to do just a casual dinner and movie in the middle of a snowy December at the outdoor Fort Wayne mall. Plans changed when Madison got the movie time wrong and they had hours to spare walking around a snowy and cold outdoor mall. Madison quickly found that what seemingly would be an awkaward situation on a first day, wasn’t. Rodney and her fell into a rhythmic, casual conversation and what was supposed to be a few hours turned into just the first few moments of their relationship.
Years passed and Rodney and Madison built a life together. As they were walking around this past December at the same mall that their first date was at, admiring the Christmas lights in the outdoor courtyard, Rodney got down on one knee and asked Madison to be his soulmate. They’ll be married next spring surrounded by the very best of witnesses, family, and friends.
Madison and Rodney, thank you for exploring the parks and being total troopers with the hiking and climbing- seriously can’t wait for your day! xx- M
