Kayla and Jon nabbed the epitome of the perfect autumn day for their engagement session and everyone should be jealous that they managed to snag it. It was warm, the leaves had almost entirely changed, and not a soul was at the state park. Kayla and Jon have a unique balance – both are calm and collected but manage to be able to laugh and goof off at the same time. We hiked through the woods as they talked about their insane travels and the proposal that literally knocks every proposal out of the park. Jon, being the meticulous person he is, stashed the ring in his carry-on toiletry bag so he could propose at sunset on the beach of the Dominican Republic. In case you want to know, he had meticulously opened a bag of cotton balls, inserted the ring into one of the cotton pads, and then resealed the bag by melting the plastic with a hair straightener. Freaking genius.
People that bring dogs to sessions have a special place in my heart and Teddy showed up to the evening flannel bandana and all. He is SO well trained and puts most dogs to shame with his ridiculously good looks and proper “sit.” Kayla and Jon, thank you so much for completely rocking the session and being seriously so fun to be with. I can’t thank you enough for being so patient waiting for these photos and I’m so excited for next summer when we can finally celebrate your wedding (instead of the dozens you’ve been too this year). SO ready to party with you both! All the love – xx, M
