They had had their wedding on the calendar for 2019 for almost a year when Lindsey called me one night. They were getting married the following weekend. They’d still be partying next year, but given a few family circumstances, they needed to be married now. Friends rallied together and threw them a backyard wedding that was everything Lindsey and Jake didn’t know they wanted. I’ve always loved couples that do things differently and march to the beat of their own drum, so shooting a “we’re already married but this is our engagement session” session was the way to my heart.
Lindsey and Jake showed up with pupcakes for my dog and vegan food for me. Everything they do is for others – it’s something that’s so easy to realize the moment you meet them. They talked about how they worked at a piano bar in downtown Indy and how Jake always refused to socialize and go out after the shift was done. Linsey finally persuaded him and he changed plans (because who wouldn’t for that brown-eyed hottie), and just a few years later they’re married. Their wedding next year is going to be the most epic party and I can’t wait to watch them get down on the dance floor and party with all of their friends, because if they’re anything like Lindsey and Jake, they’re going to be the best freaking humans.
Lindsey and Jake, thank you thank you. Thanks for being so willing to freeze your asses off in the waterfall, run through the words, and get hella muddy for me. Also thank you for not being completely mortified as Luna humped me half the session. She loves you two just as much as me now I think (also, she did her best to photobomb half the photos for you). Seriously can’t wait till next October. All the love – xx, M
