The sun peeked over the mountains as Larissa and Charlie brushed the frost off of the brush on their hike up the trail in Garden of the Gods National Park. They walked hand in hand and reflected on the wild events that had taken place just a week and a half before. They had always dreamed of a small intimate wedding, and just a few days earlier, they had packed their bags, threw on their Keens and climbed up their favorite mountain to speak their vows and become husband and wife. Family and friends didn’t know of the elopement yet, and Larissa and Charlie were relishing the long days where they could quietly celebrate their new marriage independently and secretly. Her bouquet was tattooed on her arm and her Keens were referred to as her wedding shoes from that moment on. They told me their story and we caught the first rays of sunshine on the cool spring morning as they celebrated their first week together as husband and wife.
Larissa and Charlie, I can’t thank you enough for meeting up with us at the crack of dawn and helping us document the beauty of Colorado and your beautiful souls. You two are the most adventurous bright lights in this world and I can’t wait to see how you conquer all the rocks, brush, and mountains in the future. All the love – xx, M
