“I told you in eigth grade that I wanted to marry you and here we are,” she said as they read letters under the Aspen tree at Union 12. Tears streamed down both of their cheeks and there wasn’t a dry eye on the porch of the venue as Madi walked down the aisle to her middle-school best friend and her soulmate. They both talked about how God had blessed them with a spouse they could grow up with, reminisced about the akward stages of life like Conner’s high school mohawk, and dreamed of the future they were starting as husband and wife.
I’ll be honest, I didn’t hold it together very much during this day. Neither did Madi’s parents, or siblings, or bridal party. Everyone cried, laughed that they were crying, and cried some more. Because finally, after almost a decade of being by each others sides and juggling the best friend vs. dating vs. still being in middle school, they had grown up and never wavered on the fact that they were meant for each other.
Madi and Conner, ugh you two. You two have such a long, beautiful story and I am so honored to be able to document a small portion of that. Truly. Thank you so much to you, your family, and your friends for welcoming me with open arms and letting me witness your perfect day. All the love – xx, M
