2017, you were a good one. A year of incredible couples and intense transitions. A year of documenting couples who poured out their heart and soul to me and let me document their biggest days and quietest moments. A year of cherishing the unique story that coincides with each couple – from a new husband […]
They first crossed paths during freshman year in high school when they sat near each other in Spanish class. Something sparked between them, but since both Kyrie and Tyler were in different relationships, they turned the spark into a casual high school friendship. As fate would have it, that wasn’t the end of their story. A year later, they found themselves side by side in a geometetry class and now, both single, their friendship started to grow. They started hanging out outside of school, and one night as they laid and looked at the Indiana stars above them, they decided they were dating.
Tyler and Kyrie’s laid-back, relaxed personalities and complete adoration for each other made aspects of their relationship easy even though some would consider making it through nursing school, the military, and the growing pains of life nearly an impossible feat. And last winter, on a family trip, Tyler took Kyrie under the Christmas lights and asked her to be his wife. Finally, their hard work had paid off.
They’ll be married next summer in a low-key, laidback affair – so fitting to their personalities. We celebrated their engagement by wandering through the forests and lakes of Chain O’Lakes and taking the time to relax and enjoy the fall during the craziness of Kyrie’s last year of Nursing school. Kyrie and Tyler, I had such a joyful and relaxing time documenting your relationship and I’m so excited to witness your day next year! Counting down – xx, M
Maybe it’s the fact that they were both music majors and naturally live in a certain rhythm. Or maybe its the fact that they started out as friends and they learned and grew with each other to reach synonymous movement as a couple. Whatever it is, Kassie and Kris are perfectly in tune with one another and their wedding day represented their one-ness most of all. When Kris reached down to fix his tie, Kassie’s hand was already there. When Kassie started to walk, Kris was already lifting the hem of her dress. He knew just the things to whisper in her ear to ease the tension of the wedding day and make her laugh, and she knew just the songs to drag him onto the dance floor to party too.
From tacos on the plates of their guests to tacos on the socks of the groom, Kassie and Kris strived to make their wedding day uniquely them. Notes of lavender from the flower crowns and boutonnieres wafted through the air the entire day. Disney and Broadway echoed from the limo and the dance floor. Every little detail was carefully thought out to represent their relationship in the most perfect of ways, and even during the busiest times of the day, they only thought of each other.
Kassie and Kris, documenting your day was the greatest privilege and I still get goosebumps thinking of you two beautiful souls and the love you share. I hope you’re recovering from your greatest day with lots of Pina Coladas on that beach of yours 😉 All the love – M&M

It was a a common theme throughout their wedding day- everyone that spoke about Karlie and Nick stated the same words of praise- this couple lives to serve others. Between Karlie’s job at a non-for-profit, caring for children day in and day out and Nicks love for sports and coaching, they are a force of servanthood and have the warmest hearts.
On their wedding day, moments before the ceremony, they met around a corner of the stairwell to pray. At the touch of their hands, before a single word was able to escape Karlie’s lips, Nick could already sense the excitement, anxiety, and emotion that overwhelmed his bride. And as he requested that she take not one, but multiple, deep breaths, the stress melted away from Karlie. As happy tears streamed down her cheeks, her face broke into a smile as her future husband prayed over them.
Karlie and Nick, I’m forever thankful that I had the honor of being a part of your day. Your family made me feel like a long, lost member and it’s clear where you two got your heart for others (as well as those dashingly good looks). I’ll be thinking of you for the next ten days as you sip on cocktails on the beaches of Fiji. You two deserve it more than anyone. xx- M
