Rainy days in Fort Wayne, Indiana are my favorite and rainy wedding days top it all. Every couple will hate that I’m saying this but its true. There’s something about Fort Wayne in the rain that just makes it so romantic and cozy and just all around a gorgeous setting for a wedding, and Fort Wayne is rarely described as gorgeous.

Justin handed Caroline a bag of airheads during their letter reading in an attempt to humorously apologize over the last argument they had before the wedding day – an argument that involved wedding stress, airheads, and Caroline eating them all.  Because a marriage, at the very least, requires a lot of humor and the ability to laugh off the tiny spats and the unfortunate events that life hands you. After years of long distance and chasing each other around the country for careers and college, Justin and Caroline are more prepped for the marriage journey than most.

We were constantly surrounded by gorgeous architecture, from the hair and makeup studio, to the church, to the reception – it was a historic architecture nerds dream. In an effort to make the most of the early sunset, we snuck downtown into the alleys by my favorite pizza place and I made Caroline and Justin dance through the puddles with frozen fingers and rain falling on their faces. I have no regrets, because dang it was romantic.

Caroline and Justin, ugh you two. I don’t even have words. Your family and friends greeted us with the biggest open arms and the warmest hearts and we can’t thank you enough for not only trusting us with your day, but trusting us when it came to rainy day backup plans and getting a little bit wet. I can’t wait to visit you every single year in West Palm Beach and get you drunk on the best margaritas the city has to offer. See you in a few days under the palm trees – xx, M&M
