The venue’s walls could hardly handle the cheers, applause, and clinking of champagne as Amber and Nick walked through the doors as husband and wife during this elegant editorial wedding at Bridgeport Art Center. What was a long awaited reception day after eloping in the midst of last Chicago’s Summer, there wasn’t a dry eye or empty spot on the dance floor as Amber and Nick were celebrated fully. And celebrate they did – in true Gemini fashion, Amber not only made sure every single detail was fully thought through, but that their wedding day was truly a wedding day in all it’s glory.
From not one, not two, but THREE different bridal looks – highly recommend a detachable skirt – to making sure they soaked in the intimate moments of the wedding day with their closest loved ones, to the tiniest details of table signage and integrating in her Mexican heritage, Amber and Nick truly thought of everything.
But most importantly – they made sure to soak it all in. They spent time together. They walked through their reception set up to see what they had worked so hard to envision for year after year. They had family marry them and surround them in every aspect of the day. And please, from a Midwest wedding photographer who sees so many people just blink and watch their day disappear – let yourself (and the people around you) shed the happy tears. Don’t worry about the makeup – it will hold I promise.
Please, take a look around during your ceremony, dances and speeches and focus on faces around the room.
Please, touch your flowers, see the reception before the guests enter, twirl around in your dress, take a private minute with your new spouse, and get on the dance floor. For the love of weddings, get on the dance floor.
Amber and Nick – I’m so glad we finally got you freakin’ married. It was worth the wait and you two knocked it out of the park. I can’t wait to see how you take Texas by storm and you two are forever the best of the best. And for anyone tuning in to the blog, enjoys every moment from this elegant editorial wedding at Bridgeport Art Center! Xo – M
