Aaah the wedding day timeline. Something that needs to be so perfectly crafted yet flow and adapt to any portion of the day that might run behind or have a hiccup *knock on wood.* This is by far the part of the wedding planning process that I get asked most about, so I figured I […]

Rainy days in Fort Wayne, Indiana are my favorite and rainy wedding days top it all. Every couple will hate that I’m saying this but its true. There’s something about Fort Wayne in the rain that just makes it so romantic and cozy and just all around a gorgeous setting for a wedding, and Fort […]

I don’t even know how to start out this blog post because I’m SO excited to introduce you to Indigo Lace Collective’s newest associate!  When Madi and I first met, she was the little sister of my dear friend. As I shot his wedding, I distinctly remember her saying how much she wanted me to photograph her wedding someday. We accomplished that goal this past October when she married her best friend – they are seriously the most perfect couple, guys.

Even back in October, I never would have dreamed that six months later Madi would be the newest ILC sidekick. But winter brought in so many bittersweet changes – my dear sister and former associate, Jamaica, had to part ways with ILC to follow her path and dreams in life. And while I’m so sad to see her go and SO excited to see what the future holds for her, it was time to start the search for someone who could fill the shoes.

Initially, this was such a daunting and stressful task. It was hard for me to believe that there was someone out there who would adore and care for my clients with the same passion I had. But Madi fell into place like a missing piece of a puzzle. I can’t wait for all my 2017 and 2018 clients to see how bright Madi’s soul is. She is full of creative passion and energy. For now, she’ll be shooting alongside me for a second perspective during weddings. The future, however, is full of possibilities for her to take on ILC weddings solo if I’m booked or to cater to a couple’s tighter budget.

As excited I am to introduce Madi to the world and my beloved clients, I’m going to stop the ranting and let her tell you a bit about herself:

When Madison enters a room, she immediately looks around to see what she can do to help someone else. She’s the type of woman who always has a kind word, warm smile, and thoughtful gesture on the tip of her fingers. Even on her wedding day, she would buzz from bridesmaid to vendor, asking them what they needed, serving them food, and loving them to the very core of her being. There’s never been a person with more of a servant’s heart then Madison.

That is, until you meet Logan. The man who holds Madison’s heart, cares for her with ever fiber of his body, and is the twinkle in her eye as she laughs at his jokes.  He spent hours on end hand crafting Mr. & Mrs. signs for their special day, because that’s what Madison wanted. He spend days helping set up the reception and the ceremony precisely to the vision Madison had in mind, because she is his world. His life. His soulmate. And now, after they exchanged vows in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, she is his wife until the end of time.

Madison and Logan, words cannot describe how thrilled and honored I was to be a part of your magical day. It’s crazy to think that as we sat side by side in the third grade class, that we would reconnect almost twenty years later to tell your love story. I wouldn’t have it any other way, and I’m so thrilled to call you two friends. Have a wonderful time in Boston – xx, M&J
